João Pedro Brandão releases “Trama no Navio” in 2020, and after having presented this work in several national and international venues, he now returns to celebrate the International Jazz Day in Famalicão, then leaves for Geneva, Dachau this month and Bilbao in June.
In addition to João Pedro Brandão, Ricardo Moreira, Hugo Carvalhais and Marcos Cavaleiro, he accompanies the Alexandra Corte Real concert with real-time video projections.

Bio
João Pedro Brandão (n.1977) is a Portuguese saxophone player and composer from Oporto, moving between written music and free improvisation. Plays the saxophone and flute, composes, and directs Porta-Jazz, a jazz musical association, rooted in Oporto city since 2010 with interrupted activity for the last decade years. He is also founder and director of Coreto, an ensemble that joins twelve musicians from the Oporto jazz scene: Susana Santos Silva, Hugo Raro or José Pedro Coelho, among others and that been nominated to Best Jazz Album ´22, by Play – Portuguese music awards. João Pedro is also part of “Bode Wilson” with Demian Cabaud and Marcos Cavaleiro; “Impermanence” of Susana Santos Silva, Demian Cabau’s “Otro Cielo”, Lucia Martinez Cuarteto and the Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos (OJM). In 2020, the musician released “Trama no Navio”, a piece that as its origin on OJM invitation to create music for the Orchestra. In 2022, the musician released “Aether” the new Bode Wilson album. João Pedro Brandão´s considered one of the most prominent figures of the national jazz.
