The new ensemble, featuring Pietro Paris on double bass, Francesco Panconesi on saxophone, Ruggero Fornari on guitar, Andrea Beninati on drums and cello, presents theatrical music born from the interplay between individuals, stories, narratives, movements, and motives, created with an intriguing blend of improvisation and composition.
Folk Traffic emerges from a long-standing relationship among this musicians, rooted in a previous creative project based on improvisation, which now evolves in a new compositional direction. The group’s music draws inspiration from significant experiences over the years,
creating a fixed perspective through which people, music, stimuli, readings, conversations, images, thoughts, and listening intertwine. This intersection of humanity comes alive in the music and the dialogue between the musicians.
Each tune on the setlist is accompanied by an evocative title that manipulates the relationship between two words, creating a new meaning through a brief pause of a comma. This act of abstraction represents the heart of the Folk Traffic project, revealing new relationships between elements and showcasing often opposing poles of meaning.
