Analog Dakar Club #13 – Homenagem A Super Mama Djombo, A Banda – Sonora Da Guine – Bissau

Analog Dakar Club present the mix “Homenagem a Super Mama Djombo, a banda-sonora da Guiné-Bissau”, a tribute to the legendary Guissau-Binéen group “Super Mama Djombo”. The mix tells the story of its founding members through their past greatness, betrayed dreams and a good dose of revolutionary saudade… served by a relentless groove. I have grouped together tracks from their legendary albums that were all recorded during the same session, a crazy thing. Some are very rare to find and I was lucky to have them all in my hands, some are mine, others belong to my old friend and digger DJ Look who deserves a Big Up. There are also tracks by José Carlos Schwarz and his Cobiana Jazz, their political and musical mentor and some references to Amilcar Cabral, the father of Guiné-Bissau independence.
