Psychophono #3: Guest Mix Greek Folk Records With Psychophono (7″ Special)

This week’s guests are Psychophono. It is a project created by a collective of Italian DJs’ based in Milan (Italy), ethnomusicological enthusiasts, who propose vinyl from the 1950s to the early 1980s coming from all tropical parts of the world. Folk and psychedelics from Africa, the Caribbean, South America, the Middle East, and southeast Asia, often contaminated by Western sounds (rock, funk, jazz and soul).

In this 7″ special episode they highlight the various influences that Greek music has had during his history from east to west. You can hear that traditional folk music is full of different rhythms and virtuoso instrument players.
